JDM professor produces podcast focused on longform journalism

Matt Tullis, assistant professor of journalism and digital media, is once again producing Gangrey: The Podcast from the studios of WRDL 88.9 FM.

The podcast focuses on longform journalism, and consists of Tullis interviewing the top magazine and newspaper reporters in the country about their stories. Podcast episodes have been downloaded and or listened to more than 3,600 times by listeners all over the world since it launched last year.

Tullis just released his 11th episode in the series, a podcast that features Wright Thompson of ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine. Thompson is widely regarded as one of the top literary sports journalists in the country, and has been included in "Best American Sports Writing" seven times. Recent guests have included Janet Reitman of Rolling Stone, Jason Fagone of Wired and Philadelphia and Luke Dittrich of Esquire. Tullis has also talked with reporters from The New York Times Magazine, D Magazine, Texas Monthly, the Tampa Bay Times and the Atlantic.

Episodes are released every other Thursday. The next podcast episode will be released on Oct. 31.
