JDM professor's story included in year-end best-of-2012 list

A story written by JDM professor Matt Tullis was included in Byliner.com's "102 Spectacular Nonfiction Stories from 2012."

"Feet of Clay, Heart of Iron" was published by SBNation Longform in October 2012. The story profiles Brian Simmons, one of the best horseshoe pitchers in the world. It chronicles his attempt to win a second consecutive world championship at the world tournament in Knoxville, Tenn., along with the massive challenges Simmons has overcome just to be alive.

SBNation Longform is a relatively new website dedicated to longform literary sports journalism. It has quickly gained a national following, with many pieces being chosen for prestigious year-end honors.  This was Tullis's first piece with the publication.
