Gretchen Dworznik has been named one of 17 semi-finalists for the prestigious Taylor Excellence in Teaching Award at Ashland University.
The award is given annually to a faculty member to recognize in-class and outside-of-class teaching effectiveness. Faculty are nominated by their peers or students, and must develop a teaching portfolio and submit it to the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees.
The annual award is $5,000, and is funded through a gift by Mr. and Mrs. Ed Taylor.
This is the first time a JDM faculty member has been selected as a semi-finalist for the award. Dworznik, who also serves as the chair of the department, is in her sixth year at Ashland University.
