JDM Assistant Professor Dr. David McCoy was recently named to the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Journalism & Mass Communication. The journal focuses on providing the most complete and reliable source of information on current research in the field of journalism and mass communication. As an online journal, the IJJMC emphasizes publishing quality articles that are both accessible to researchers and relevant to the discipline.
Dr. McCoy joins colleagues from the University of Illinois, University of Chicago, Columbia College and Eastern Michigan University, as well as scholars from colleges in Australia, Japan and South Korea. He is also on the editorial boards of the Journal of Communications Media Studies and the Ohio Communication Journal.

AUTV 20 Eagle Sports Update 2 24 16
This AUTV 20 Eagle Sports Update details the new off-season football conditioning rules, an interview with AU Women's Basketball coach Robyn Fralick, a look at the AU Swimming team, a talk with Track coach Jud Logan and an Athlete Spotlight profile of basketball player Wendell Davis.

This Eagle News Update looks at the recent AU Kids and Sibs Weekend, the Theatre Department's version of A Midsummer Night's Dream, the Alexander Hamilton Society's forum about the world's refugee situation, the Greek Day of Service and the Sport Communication Club's upcoming Goalball event.

JDM 213 produces #howdoyouAU Athletics video
Journalism and Digital Media majors in the JDM 213 Professional Practice-Television course recently produced a video about AU Athletics. Juniors Erich Metze and Janie Yount, along with sophomores Tommy Nesbitt and Megan Harvey, interviewed AU Athletic Director Al King Head Track and Field Coach Jud Logan about the community outreach provided by AU athletes.
These videos are part of an ongoing series produced by three different JDM production teams.

JDM 213 Students Produce Greek Life Video
Ashland University Journalism and Digital Media students enrolled in the JDM 213 Professional Practice-Television course this semester have been busy recording and editing a series of promotional videos. JDM students are working in collaboration with senior AU Marketing major Katie May to produce unique videos that reflect various campus organizations. These videos are slated to coordinate with AU's upcoming Day of Caring.
Dr. Dave McCoy is the instructor of the JDM 213 course.

JDM alumnus wins Missouri statewide awards
Former Collegian managing editor and sports editor Chris Bils (2014) was recognized for his work as a sports reporter in a statewide competition among Missouri newspapers.
Bils is a sports reporter for the St. Joseph News-Press in St. Joseph, Missouri. He won two of the newspaper's nine awards in the Associated Press Managing Editors competition, including a first place honor.
The first place award came in the Sports Feature Writing category. Bils wrote "Captain Kadence," a story about a 6-year-old named Kadence Hailey, who suffers with a kidney disease called Alport Syndrome. The Benton High School football team invited Kadence to practice and made him an honorary captain for a game in October. Bils also made a video story to accompany the award-winning piece.
Bils also won second place for Spot Sports, with his story "Another Masterpiece." This story was a game story from the Division II football national championship game, which Northwest Missouri State won.
