JDM Grad Earns Reporting Job Thanks to his Converged Skills

JDM May graduate Chris Bils (pictured left) has just landed a reporting job at the St. Joseph News-Press (26,000 circ.) in St. Joseph, Missouri. Chris will be covering the Northwest Missouri State football beat along with one of the three city high schools.

The paper shares a newsroom with the local Fox affiliate FOX 26 KNPN, so they were looking for someone who could not only write for the paper, but contribute content to the TV station as well. Chris says they wanted someone to be able to do live shots from Friday night football games and video sports features throughout the week.

Chris says, "Thank you for creating a program that so directly led to this wonderful opportunity. I'm excited to be able to carry the JDM flag along with Elizabeth, Becca, Ryan and everyone else who bought in and is now seeing the payoff from all of those long nights in the office and editing lab."

Chris was part of a stellar 2014 JDM graduating class which included Ryan Sampson, who is headed to graduate school at Elon University; Becca Ribley, who is reporting for WAOW-TV in Wausau, WI; Elizabeth Bucheit, who is a production assistant at ESPN; Kristin Yenny, who is a Video Production Specialist for Momentum Media; and Melanie Sudar, who is a Video Production Specialist for Spire Advertising.

Congratulations to all of our amazing graduates and good luck!
